What's a PB?
It's an abbreviation for 'Personal Best'. It means the best time you ever got over a certain distance. It's used as a bit of a marker if you want to see if you get faster over time. It's not used as a goal to beat other people it's about your achievements and what you personally can do. It's suprising the number of people who do their first race and then try to beat their own time!
Lets say you decide to enter a 10K race (10 kilometres) and you complete it in 1hour, 20 mins and 10 seconds. Next time you do the same distance in a race, you'll be dying to get under that time.
